Shan Bhatnagar is an Economics graduate from the University of Maryland who transitioned from the corporate sector to pursue his passion as a full-time, self-taught artist. Bhatnagar’s work comprises evocative portrayals of Lord Shrinathji depicted across moods, seasons, and settings.
Based in Jaipur, Bhatnagar draws significant inspiration from the city’s artistic heritage and vibrant aesthetic vocabulary. In addition to his studio practice, he is an accomplished curator specializing in traditional Pichwai paintings of Nathdwara. Deeply committed to the preservation of this intricate and historically significant art form, he advocates for its continuity through patronage and cultural engagement. Recently, he was invited to curate the Krishna Art Pavilion for the Ambani family under the auspices of the Reliance Foundation.
Beyond his artistic and curatorial pursuits, Bhatnagar is also an established interior designer, known particularly for his work with the Royal Families of Jaipur and Udaipur, as well as with a discerning clientele across India. His most recent project, Laalee, a boutique art hotel in Jaipur, stands as a confluence of his artistic sensibilities, design acumen, and deep affection for the city’s cultural fabric. Laalee embodies Bhatnagar’s vision of personal hospitality and artistic storytelling.
